Guilty pleasures at Baby Cakes

New York is super democratic–here you can find everything for every necessity. For example, are you allergic to milk, gluten, soy and you can’t eat sugar? Are you craving for a donut?

What’s the big deal! Go to Baby Cakes in the Lower East Side the ultimate food phenomenon. A teeny tiny bakery that offers every classic of the indulgence made in the U.S.A. especially prepared for vegans and those with allergies. Cookies, cupcakes, cakes, brownies, muffins and of course their signature donuts. Incredibly moist, these donuts are every bit as good as regular ones and most of all they are not fried but baked to be light and healthy.

Baby Cakes, founded by lovely Erin McKenna is all natural, organic, eggs, dairy, casein, gluten and wheat free. They hate chemical sweeteners, and they don’t use refined sugar in their sweets but agave nectar.
Now, with the grand opening of their shop and two cooking books dedicated to their products and to the classics, Baby Cakes and Covers the Classics it’s maybe possible to make them at home. Baby Cakes is located on 248 Broome Street (between Orchard and Ludlow).
